Got an amazing deal at Galpin Lotus in Van Nuys, Ca.
Clifton and John were great to work with, I would highly recommend this dealership, and from the reviews on this site, their service department is great also.
This particular Elise was sitting in their showroom for over a year, with only 89 miles on the clock.
I called in actually looking for a used 2005, but Clifton said he could give me a smoking deal on a new 2009, so I said why not.
Sticker was $46k with the star shield, I ended up getting it for $35k and got $25900 for my 2009 370z trade-in.
I've wanted one of these ever since Lotus started bringing them into the States, now I finally have one! :nanner:
BTW, i don't really get why they call it the purist edition, I was expecting cloth and manual windows. :shrug:

What an outstanding deal! Congrats. I think the Purist Edition was Lotus' attempt to offer a lower cost version (limited numbers) without having to rebase the whole Elise line-up (i.e. reduce the price on an ongoing basis) -- basically recognizing that we are in a very challenging economy where bonuses aren't what they used to be. So they decided to cut down on the 'luxuries' so that future customers don't get used to the lower price. Personally I'm floored that dealers still have them on their lots -- to me the Purist Editions just represent such excellent value relative to the rest of the mix.

I really like this package. The power accessories and leather is very nice. I love the handling too... I won't be tracking the car so I don't need the track package. Only thing I want to do to the car is have the stock wheels powder coated satin black.
This was their last 09... I wish they had an Exige for the same deal! Oh well, can't have it all.

Congratulations and welcome. You got a great deal for a perfect car. When I ordered mine in 2004, there wasn't a purist edition, but that was basically what I ordered, zero options. It makes the most sense if you want to make modifications in the future.

No, the original head was the Alpine 9872. I replaced that with an Alpine 9887, which accommodates the ipod cable, blue tooth cable and sirius cable, and has a remote, although I only have the sirius and BT hooked up. With the BT, I can stream from my phone, so I don't need the ipod cable.

I JUST saw that while I was at the dealership getting my brakes flushed
I was wondering why it was called the "pursit edition" as well... It had great gray leather, power window, etc.

talked to Clifton today.
Says they have a few 09's remaining.
One of them is a supercharged elise for the mid forties.
